Ze is gebaseerd op de volledige editie \u003cstrong\u003eOpera Omnia Rameau (OOR)\u003c\/strong\u003e, series \u003cstrong\u003eIV\/2\u003c\/strong\u003e en \u003cstrong\u003eIV\/7\u003c\/strong\u003e (uitgegeven door \u003cstrong\u003eSylvie Bouissou\u003c\/strong\u003e ), om uitvoerders een solide en direct bruikbare musicologische basis te bieden.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDe inhoud weerspiegelt de scènische evolutie van het werk, waarvan de geschiedenis van de versies bijzonder bewogen is. Tijdens de eerste uitvoering, op \u003cstrong\u003e23 augustus 1735\u003c\/strong\u003e, bestond \u003cstrong\u003eLes Indes galantes\u003c\/strong\u003e uit een proloog en drie aktes: \u003cstrong\u003eLe Turc généreux\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eLes Incas du Pérou\u003c\/strong\u003e en \u003cstrong\u003eLes Fleurs\u003c\/strong\u003e. Al snel veroorzaakte \u003cstrong\u003eLes Fleurs\u003c\/strong\u003e controverse en vanaf \u003cstrong\u003e11 september 1735\u003c\/strong\u003e werd de akte grondig herzien. Voor de reprise van \u003cstrong\u003e10 maart 1736\u003c\/strong\u003e voegden Rameau en Fuzelier een nieuwe akte toe, \u003cstrong\u003eLes Sauvages\u003c\/strong\u003e.
