Met een langzamere attack krijg je vloeiende \u003cstrong\u003evolume swells\u003c\/strong\u003e, bijna \"vocaal\", perfect voor lyrische leads en luchtige gitaarlagen. Door de decay te verhogen (of juist te verkorten) ga je van een ruime sustain naar zeer duidelijke \u003cstrong\u003estaccato noten\u003c\/strong\u003e, met een \"synth punch\" en ultraritmisch karakter.\u003cbr \/\u003eDe \"reverse\" illusie komt van de manier waarop de envelope de noot laat opkomen: de vervaagde attack en gecontroleerde dynamiek geven de indruk van een geluid dat \"achterstevoren\" binnenkomt, bijzonder effectief op slides, aangeslagen akkoorden en legato melodieën.
