Het uitgangspunt was duidelijk: die transparantie behouden, terwijl er moderne veelzijdigheid wordt toegevoegd (hogere gain, clipping presets, onafhankelijke boost en MIDI-bediening) binnen de filosofie van Jackson Audio overdrives.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eVoor wie, waarvoor: van verrijkt clean tot snijdende solo\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eDe Golden Boy is bedoeld voor de gitarist die een pedaal wil dat \u003cstrong\u003ealtijd-aan\u003c\/strong\u003e kan blijven om een clean geluid te verdikken, en dan een echte leadmachine wordt zonder van pedaal te wisselen. Hij blinkt uit in \u003cstrong\u003eblues\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003erock\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003epop\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003efunk\u003c\/strong\u003e, indie, en overal waar een leesbare en genuanceerde overdrive gezocht wordt, zowel in de \u003cstrong\u003estudio\u003c\/strong\u003e als \u003cstrong\u003elive\u003c\/strong\u003e. Op een Strat of Tele in een Fender-achtige versterker vind je gemakkelijk kleuren \"à la John Mayer\": bijtend, helder en sustainrijk, zonder sluier-effect.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eBediening, modi en afstandsbediening: ontworpen voor het moderne pedalboard\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eQua instellingen biedt de overdrive-sectie \u003cstrong\u003eVolume\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eGain\u003c\/strong\u003e en een zeer efficiënte \u003cstrong\u003eactieve 3-bands EQ\u003c\/strong\u003e (Bass, Middle, Treble) om aanwezigheid, rondheid en aanslag aan te passen afhankelijk van gitaar en versterker. Met de voet zijn er twee footswitches om de overdrive (Drive) en boost (Boost) te activeren, en toegang te krijgen tot geavanceerde functies zonder te bukken.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDe Golden Boy onderscheidt zich door zijn \u003cstrong\u003e4 memoriseerbare clipping-opties\u003c\/strong\u003e die het gevoel en de textuur van de saturatie veranderen: van een meer gecomprimeerde en strakke drive tot een openere en meer \"amp-achtige\" respons. De \u003cstrong\u003eGain Cycle\u003c\/strong\u003e verdeelt de maximale gain in 4 niveaus (25\/50\/75\/100%) om tijdens een nummer van een edge of breakup naar een vollere drive te schakelen. De MIDI-ingang is via een TRS-formaat, waarvoor een adapterkabel nodig is van een standaard MIDI-connector (DIN-5) naar TRS.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eDe klank\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eDe Golden Boy is een overdrive \u003cstrong\u003erijk aan harmonischen\u003c\/strong\u003e, met een \u003cstrong\u003etransparante\u003c\/strong\u003e weergave en een zeer directe speelgevoel: hij reageert fijn op picking, gitaarvolume en type pickups. Zijn kracht is een drive die helder blijft in akkoorden, hout en reliëf behoudt, terwijl hij verder gaat in gain dan veel door Bluesbreaker geïnspireerde circuits. In stacking kan de MOSFET boost dienen als springplank om de saturatie te verdichten, of als een gesculpteerde clean boost om uit de mix te steken.
